Gokce Kumral

Clinical Psychologist

I graduated as a clinical psychologist from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and, during my studies, completed an internship and gained work experience at the CAW. There, I supported young people, couples and clients from socially vulnerable backgrounds. After my studies, I worked as an independent psychologist at the group practice Adem in Ghent. In 2022, I decided to establish my own practice in Brussels: Praktijk Anka.

In my work, I use a client-centred approach. This means that your story, pace and unique context are central. I believe that change arises within a safe, respectful and authentic relationship. Praktijk Anka is also known for its culturally sensitive approach: I take into account cultural background and identity issues that may play a role in your life. Sessions can take place in Dutch, Turkish or English.

Alongside my practice work, I am co-founder of the non-profit Vision Tree Psychology and Technology Education Center, where I am involved in Erasmus+ projects and regularly give workshops and lectures on various psychological topics.

The name Anka refers to the mythical phoenix—a symbol of being reborn from the ashes. That image reflects my vision: no matter how difficult the circumstances, there is always room for growth, recovery and a new beginning.

I work with adolescents aged 16 and over, young adults and adults who are looking for support, insight or guidance in their lives.
